Would you like to be more grounded in yourself, and learn practices for nature-based self-connection?
Join us for “Wild NVC” - an opportunity to deepen, expand and cultivate NVC self-connection with Wild Mind* practices in the natural world 🌍.
Dates: Series meets each second Saturday of the month: TBD
Time: from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm (5 hours).
Location: This in-person offering takes place in various parks in the Kansas City Area (register here for location information in reminder emails)
Each month, we will meet at a Bay Area park to focus on a different NVC component (Observations, Feelings, Needs, Requests) mapping it to the 4 directions of the Wild Mind Map* - you will be invited to deepen your resourcefulness of each through natural metaphors, archetypes of wholeness, windows of knowing and nature-based practices.
I have found that merging the modalities of NVC with Wild Mind in an integral fashion grounds me in my life experience by connecting to life through full-present sensing, embodied feeling, deep imagination and heart-centered thinking. This in-person offering is complementary to the online 10-week series Wild Heart.
* “Wild Mind - A Field Guide to the Human Psyche” by Bill Plotkin, PhD - a nature based depth psychology inspired by experiences in guiding the descent to soul since 1980, following in the lineage of Carl Jung, James Hillman, while being inspired by indigenous cultures. James Prieto is apprenticing to guiding Wild Mind through Animas Valley’s Wild Mind Training Program (see animas.org).
** "Nonviolent Communication - A Language of Life" by Marshall Rosenberg, PhD. For more information, go to the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
Agenda: We’ll follow this general structure:
You can attend the first session without payment or commitment. Standard Tuition request is $149 for series. Discounts and scholarships available based on your ability to pay -- send request here.
If not registered for series but dropping in, I'm requesting $55 per person, per session.
About the facilitator:
James Prieto is a nature enthusiast, author and Certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Trainer, apprentice in the Animas Wild Mind Training Program (WMTP). James guides individuals toward connection through personal development coaching, by facilitating NVC, along with “Wild NVC” and “Wholistic NVC” nature-based offerings which integrate with Wild Mind. He’s passionate about the intersection of Animas Valley inspired work with NVC as a way to contribute to Earth elder Joanna Macy’s “Great Turning” and Thomas Berry’s “Great Work.” Click here for extended bio.
